For the past 15 years, Ellen Farris (Marg Helgenberger) has battled a mysterious medical condition that has disrupted her life and destroyed her marriage. Although her frustration grows with her dostors' inabilities to discover any cause for her affliction, she never suspects foul play until her ex-husband's current wife, Lorraine (Megan Gallager), begins to show the same symptoms and then suffers a mysterious and untimely death. With the help of Detective Mauser (Lawrence Dane) Ellen begins to investigate her ex-husband, David (John Ritter). As they gather evidence, they begin to suspect that David, in his haste to pursue new romantic interests, poisoned both women in order to avoid costly divorce proceedings. Now they must try to prove their case.
