This is the fourth album from guitarist Simon Legault in trio, and is released as his Master Project at the McGill University with Adrian Vedady (contrabass) and Michel Lambert (drums). Simon Legault started playing guitar at age sixteen. In high school and College, he won 1st prize for Secondaire sur Scène and Bourses Desjardins d'excellence en musique, playing his own music. He won the Jazz en Rafale competition in 2007. His quartet played at the Montreal International Jazz Festival in 2007, 2008, 2013 and 2018. He released his first album, Misrememberings, in 2008. The album launch concert was recorded by CBC Radio 2 and broadcast on Canada Live. In 2009 he was awarded a grant from the Conseil des Arts et des Lettres du Québec to write new music. In 2009-2010 his quartet toured the Maisons de la Culture in Montréal in collaboration with the Conseil des Arts de Montréal and was the opening act for Oliver Jones. His second release, Science Wielded By Love, was released in 2013. In 2014, the McGill Chamber Jazz ensemble premiered his piece for nonet with special guest François Théberge on saxophone. In 2015 he played with Rufus Reid and the Jazzlab Orchestra at Astral in Montréal. Having recently completed his Master’s degree at McGill University in Montreal, he continues to perform with his new quintet in support of his latest album.
