- Six-Point Star was written to teach teenagers about the importance of religious tolerance. The story follows Kasi, whose high school is riddled with cultural division, but as a senior, she’s too focused on college to do anything about it. But when her grandfather dies, she connects to her culture and her religion in a whole new way, so much so that it inspires her English teacher Ms. Arends. Together, the two explore the parallels between their respective religions, all the while growing closer and forming a lasting connection. In the end, they learn that, despite differences in faith, perhaps they aren’t so different after all.
