A tall perennial flower that grows 3-6 feet tall and blooms in the 2nd year after planting.Start seeds outdoors at the end of the spring or fall for flowering next summer, or start seedlings indoors 4 weeks before the last frost. For better germination, soak seeds in warm water for 10-12 hours before planting. If started indoors, use peat pots as the roots do not tolerate transplanting well. Plant 2-3 seeds in each pot 1/8-inch deep and keep the temperature at 68°F. Water regularly. When the shoots appear, thin them to 8-12 inches apart. Harden off before transplanting outdoors. Plant outdoors 10-15 inches apart into well-drained soil in a sunny area, protected from the wind.
