Saw chain identification: Always refer to the number stamped on the drive link of your old chain to assure correct gauge and pitch, or refer to your owner’s manual, in order to order the correct part to fit your saw chain. Chain gauge is the drive link's thickness where it fits into the guide bar groove, matching the guide bar gauge. Chain pitch is the size of the chain and is defined as the distance between any three consecutive rivets divided by two. Your guide bar length will be stated in your owner’s manual, and is the length of the long bar from end to tip (not the full length of the chainsaw).
