This makes it great for beginners, classrooms, and family gardening projects. Expected Yield Per Plant: Each seed produces one “Kyoto Kujo” plant. Each plant will produce a single green onion (aka scallion.) Hearty in Zone 5a and Up. Due to the short growing season of bunching onions, they can be grown from early spring until fall, with multiple harvests in a small area. This particular variety produces long, straight roots that need little space between plants. They will not crowd and you can expect each onion to grow straight and to maximum size with as little as 1 inch between it and nearby plants.
