- The CE Smith Stainless Steel Backing Plate is designed to distribute mounting bolt pressure evenly over 30 times more surface area than with standard washers alone, preventing spider cracking and severe gunnel damage caused by heavy tackle fishing. The backing plate is made from durable 316L cast stainless steel and is 4mm thick, making it resistant to corrosion and rust. The plate is 4-1/4" x 6" in size and is compatible with all 80 series rod holders, including 53680CA, 53680SA, 53681CA, 53681SA, 53682CA and 53682SA.
