Last year Astro introduced the 1st true air powered slide hammer to the market, the 658. Today we introduce the 658HD Heavy Duty Air Slide Hammer. While the 658 was the 1st of its kind and designed to be as compact as possible to use where traditional slide hammers may not be convenient, our customers asked if more power in a less space conscious design would be possible and we’ve answered with the 658HD. While no seized and rusted hub or other traditionally difficult application will have a full-proof tool to tackle it 100% of the time, as some are just destined for the torch, the 658HD offers by measurable force 1.5X the hammering power of our 658 Stubby Air Slide Hammer. This scales with air volume and pressure if some additional force is needed, and offers 1,050 hammer blows per minute. Every tool includes 5/8”-18 threads on the tool AND extension for use with common slide hammer attachments allowing more tasks than ever to be solved with the pull of a trigger.
