Constructed by zinc die-cast extruded aluminum, these Shop Square Sliding Window and Door Locks feature dual thumb screws that provide a tool-free way to securely lock down a vertical or horizontal sliding window, even in a venting position. Easy to install and use, place the lock on one of the sliding doors tracks; the outer track is usually the easiest, and use the twin screw-locks to create a tight grip, effectively locking the window or door in the exact position you would like it in. Designed to be used with horizontal and vertical sliding windows and sliding doors alike, window vice locks have long been the preferred choice of homeowners looking for added security. Whether you are looking for a way to keep intruders out of your home or office or want a way to keep your children and pets from wandering off, track locks are the hassle-free way to achieve peace of mind. Shop Square Window Locks work with tracks up to 3/16 inches wide when using the protective rubber insert or up to 3/8 inches without the insert. For added security, try using a lock on both the top and bottom tracks for a horizontal frame or the right and left sides when locking a vertical window frame. Windows locks are beneficial when securing a window fan or AC unit or opening the window "just a crack" for ventilation. The reason for this is that you can effectively lock the window in the precise position that prevents the window from opening any further, securing both your home and the ac unit. Please note: As a rule, window screw locks are designed to work with sturdy metal frames. Using them on thin edges, such as a delicate vinyl track, may damage the structure or allow the window to slide with pressure. Requires 28-36mm Clearance for Lock Screws.
